Burna Boy Donates ₦150 Million to VeryDarkMan’s NGO, Becomes Top Donor

Abuja / Lagos, Nigeria — January 30, 2026 — Nigerian music sensation Burna Boy (Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu) has made a remarkable contribution to VeryDarkMan’s (VDM) NGO, donating a staggering ₦150 million to support humanitarian efforts in the country.
The donation, made through Burna Boy’s company Spaceship Collective, officially positions him as the highest individual donor to VDM’s Martins Vincent Otse Initiative, surpassing a previous ₦100 million gift from music executive Don Jazzy.
VDM shared the bank receipts online and confirmed that the funds will be used for paying fines for inmates who have been unable to secure release due to financial constraints, as well as covering medical bills for vulnerable Nigerians.
This is not Burna Boy’s first major contribution to the NGO. Last year, he reportedly donated $145,000 (around ₦100 million) to support similar initiatives, even visiting correctional centers alongside VDM.
VDM, known for his activism and social commentary, has used his platform to spotlight systemic issues affecting ordinary Nigerians. The recent donation has sparked wide reactions online, with fans praising Burna Boy for leveraging his fame for social good, while others stress the importance of transparency in charitable giving.
