Security agencies have uncovered alarming details of an alleged coup plot against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. According to military investigators, the suspects reportedly purchased 32 vehicles, including SUVs and Volkswagen Golfs, to carry out covert operations.
The vehicles were allegedly intended for discreet movement, reconnaissance, and access to sensitive locations. Investigations also reveal documentary evidence such as receipts and transaction records linked to the suspects.
Sources say a retired major general and several military personnel are involved, with some still at large. Authorities are preparing to prosecute those arrested through a court-martial, while civilian collaborators are under investigation by the EFCC and DSS.
This discovery follows earlier reports of coup-related arrests in September 2025, highlighting ongoing security concerns within the nation.
